The New England Patriots dynasty started with a Super Bowl win over the Rams franchise and now some are wondering if it will come to a close on the same stage against the same team.

Super Bowl 53 will mark the ninth time that quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick will lead New England in a Super Bowl. While there will be plenty of online sports betting action on the actual game, there are also some intriguing prop bets concerning whether this will be the final game for Brady, Belichick and for tight end Rob Gronkowski. Will any of them retire right after the game? Let’s take a closer look at the props.

Will Tom Brady Retire After Super Bowl 53?

Yes +1200

No -2500

The first thing that needs to be pointed out is that these sports betting props are listed for whether Brady, Belichick and Gronkowski will retire immediately after the game. That means that if they wait one day, one week or one month to make their announcement, it still counts as a “No.” Considering that stipulation as well as the fact that Brady has said repeatedly that he wants to play well in to his 40’s, there is a good chance that Brady will not retire immediately following Super Bowl 53, regardless of the outcome. Brady is coming off one of the best performances of his career in the AFC Championship game win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Win or lose, Brady should be back with the Patriots again next season.

Will Bill Belichick Retire After Super Bowl 53?

Yes +2500

No -5000

Based on the sports betting odds for this prop bet, the sportsbooks have indicated that Brady is actually more likely to retire immediately following the game than Belichick. Considering Brady will not retire, there is a good chance that Belichick will not retire either. The most accomplished head coach in NFL history is the only head coach with five Super Bowl wins. Despite turning 67-years-old in April, Belichick has said he wants to continue coaching for the foreseeable future. Win or lose, there is a good chance Belichick will return for at least one more season beyond this year.

Will Rob Gronkowski Retire After Super Bowl 53?

Yes +600

No -1000

Of the three key Patriots that have retirement props for Super Bowl 53, Gronkowski is undoubtedly the most likely to step away from the game. Injuries have taken their toll on Gronk over the past few years. There were reports that he threatened to retire if the Patriots traded him before the season. Even if New England planned to keep him, his lack of production signals that he could be close to stepping away from the game. Whether it happens immediately after the Super Bowl is the big question here. While it might be more likely that he waits a few weeks before making an official announcement, there is still a chance that he will announce his retirement immediately if the Patriots win. There is no doubt that Gronk will want to go out on top as a Super Bowl champion. At +600 odds, it might be worth putting a little money down on this prop and betting on Gronk to retire when the season ends.
