UFC picks:  The Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas will host The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale with the fight card headlined by a featherweight matchup between Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn.  Also on the card is Derrick Lewis vs. Guto Inocente in a heavyweight bout, Justin Scoggins vs. Dustin Ortiz in a flyweight bout, Kevin Lee vs. Jesse Ronson in a lightweight bout, Jumabieke Tuerxun vs. Leandro Issa in a bantamweight match, Adriano Martins vs. Juan Manuel Puig Carreon in a lightweight matchup, Sara Moras vs. Alexis Dufresne in a women’s bantamweight bout, and Robert Drysdale vs. Keith Berish in a light heavyweight matchup.   The action can be seen on Fox Sports 1.

Frankie “The Answer” Edgar

The 32 year old Frankie Edgar has a career record of 21 bouts with 16 wins, 4 losses, and 1 draw.  Out of Edgar’s 16 career wins 4 have come by knockout, 3 by submission, and 9 by decision.  All 4 of Edgar’s losses have come by decision.  Edgar is a native of New Jersey where he still resides.  Edgar is coming off a unanimous decision win over Charles Oliveira on July 6, 2013 in a bout that took place in Las Vegas.  The win snapped a 3 bout losing streak.

BJ “Baby Jay” Penn

BJ Penn has a total of 27 career bouts with 16 wins, 9 losses, and 2 draws.  Penn has 7 knockouts out of his 16 career wins with 6 submissions and 3 decisions.  He has suffered 2 knockouts out of his 9 career losses and has just 1 win in his last 6 bouts.

The Pick

Edgar defeated Penn in back to back bouts for the UFC lightweight title in 2012 and we’ll ride Edgar and his streak!
