Jalen Ramsey figures prominently in the NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football promotions for their Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars match up. Luckily for them, Ramsey is still on the team and will play Thursday. After that, it’s anyone’s guess.

According to reports, Friday is the “target date” for a potential Ramsey trade. There’s no word on a suitor (or suitors), but Jacksonville reportedly is seeking two first round picks for one of the best cornerbacks in the league.

Only three cornerbacks in the NFL have allowed a sub-80.0 passer rating in each of the last three seasons (min 50 tgts.)

Ramsey is in the fourth year of his rookie contract with the fifth-year option already picked up. A team trading for him would likely do so with a long-term contract already on the table once he gets into the new facility.

While Ramsey could play in Thursday night’s game, will he? Refusing to play could negate a lot of contract money for the corner, but an injury suffered on TNF would end any possibility of a trade this season. It’s an odd scenario to be in and if they team has a serious two-pick offer in place, they might make in inactive just to preserve that deal.

Any NFL team would love to add Ramsey to its defensive backfield, but which teams are willing to surrender the picks to do it? It would have to be an organization in a win-now mode, one that wants a star today and potentially pass up two stars tomorrow. They’d need to already have their offense, specifically their quarterback, in place, plus no big contracts coming down the pipe that need to be handled.

I think you know where I’m going with this. The jokes are already on Twitter with the New England Patriots adding Ramsey and it makes sense for them. Once Tom Brady retires, that team is trouble and they know it. They’ll pick far too low next season, even if they don’t return to the Super Bowl, to have a chance at a top-tier quarterback. The Kansas City Chiefs also make a lot of sense.

The asking price for Jalen Ramsey is apparently two first-rounders.@peter_king, @profootballtalk's Mike Florio and @csimmsQB took stabs at who could use him the most.

You’d think that the Jaguars would rather place Ramsey in the NFC. If that’s the case, the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers could all be making that call. And don’t sleep on the Los Angeles Rams. They need to be the thinking of an Aqib Talib-less future and have no issues coughing up first rounders for talent.
