Jordan Spieth is the big favorite to win the Masters

Jordan Spieth is the leader after two rounds of play at the Masters and has become the top betting favorite by a wide margin as a result with Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose, Charley Hoffman, and Phil Mickelson also getting a lot of betting action.  Let’s take a look at the latest odds for the 2015 Masters.

Top Favorites

Jordan Spieth is a -210 favorite with Dustin Johnson  at +342, Justin Rose at +556, Charley Hoffman at +607, and Phil Mickelson at +685.  Spieth has been on fire after two days of action with a 14 under par 130 score following the second round.  Hoffman is at nine under par 135, Rose at seven under par 137, and Mickelson charging hard at six under par 138 to climb into sixth place.

Other Leaders

Paul Casey is at seven under par for a total score of 137 and is at +712 for odds to win the 2015 Masters.  Ernie Els, one of the most popular players on the PGA Tour, is at five under par for a score of 139 after two rounds.  Els could prove to be a great bargain on the board at +3167 as he is in realistic contention at an inviting price.

Four Eight

There are four players tied for eighth place after two rounds of action.  Kevin Na, Devin Streelman, Buill Haas, and Ryan Moore all are at four under par with scores of 140.  Na is at +3216 on the 2015 Masters betting board with Streelman a field choice at +849, Haas is a +4156 choice, and Moore is at +2372.

Seven Players in 12th Place

There is a logjam of seven players that are in 12th place after two rounds of action.  Louis Oosthuizen, Angel Cabrera, Mark O’Meara, Jason Day, Adam Scott, Hideki Matsuyama, and Charl Schwartzel are all at three under par with scores of 141 after two rounds of action.  Oosthuizen is at +4000 with Cabrera at +849 in the field, O’Meara a field choice at +849, Day at +2086, Scott at +2607, Matsuyama at +4500, and Schwartzel at +5000.

Notables

Tiger Woods is at two under par with a two round score of 142 which was good for 19th place in a seven way tie with such other top names as Sergio Garcia, Bubba Watson, and Rory McIlroy.  Zach Johnson was in 29th place at even par for a score of 144.  Graeme McDowell was at one over par for a two round score of 145.  Woods is an overrated +3025, Garcia is at +6000, Watson at +2635, and McIlroy at +1539.

Matchups

Spieth, Johnson, and Mickelson are matched up in an intriguing three way matchup.  Spieth is at -210 yes and +180 no.  Johnson is at +716 yes and -1216 no.  Mickelson is at +1050 yes and -3050 no.

Mickelson has come a long way from being derided as a soft choke artist to now rate as one of the big sentimental choices for fans and bettors.
