Skeete vs Evans Odds

Skeete vs Evans Odds and More From Britain – Not much is happening on the American boxing calendar but this weekend sees a pair of British cards getting attention at the sports books.

Frank Warren and his Queensberry Promotions are at London’s Copper Box Arena for a big night of boxing this Saturday, July 8th  and the show is topped by six regional title bouts in the feature spots. Three of those fights are already getting a look at the books and you should check back later in the week to see of additional odds pop up. Warren is advertising undefeated heavyweight Hughie Fury (20-0) on the under card and there are currently 14 fights on the schedule in all.

The main event sees British welterweight champion Bradley Skeete (26-1)  defending his belt against Dale Evans (13-3-2). Evans is on a three fight winning streak since falling to Sam Eggington back in October of 2015  with British and Commonwealth belts on the line. Skeete is on a nice eight fight winning streak that has seen the slick boxing champion also hold the WBO European belt. Among those wins for Skeete was a March of 2016 win over Sam Eggington, the man who last defeated Evans.

Undefeated Brit Anthony Yarde (11-0) faces WBO European light heavyweight champion Richard Baranyi (18-1) as a massive favorite. Baranyi fights out of Hungary and his resume is strictly local, with most of his fights being 6 rounders. He won the belt back in September of 2016 and he defended it that December, both times fighting at home in Hungary. This is Baranyi’s first fight outside of his home country. Yarde is a bit of a greenhorn as he started boxing at the age of 19 and had just twelve amateur bouts. The hard-hitting, athletic Yarde is hoping to jump right to the European title level with only one career 10 round bout under his belt.

Darryll Williams (15-0) and Jahmaine Smyle (14-5-2) meet for the second time with the British super middleweight title at stake. Williams took the belt from Smyle this past April by split decision so Smyle lobbied for the rematch quickly. Smyle has been around for a while and the loss to Williams was his first since 2013 so look for him to be motivated to get back the title he lost.

Glasgow, Scotland hosts Cyclone Promotions for an eight fight boxing show that sees two British amateur stand outs meet as professionals with the Commonwealth title at 140 pounds on the line. Current titleholder Josh Taylor is 9-0 as a pro and his amateur career topped off with an appearance at the 2012 London Olympics. This will be the second defense of the title for Taylor as he faces Davies (15-0), who owns a wide amateur background in his own right. The bout offers the most competitive line of all of this weekend’s fights.
