Prograis and Herrera face off tonight in Oklahoma.

Boxing is finally back after way too long an absence. Tonight Regis Prograis (16-0, 13 KOs) tries to remain undefeated against Aaron Herrera (29-4-1, 18KOs) tonight on Showtime.

Here’s the press release from ShoBox.

MIAMI – Four undefeated fighters will headline the March 25 boxing card at Buffalo Run Casino.

Super lightweight knockout artist and emerging rising star, Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (16-0, 13 KOs) will meet experienced Aaron “The Jewel” Herrera (29-4-1, 18 KOs) in the 10-round main event of a ShoBox: The New Generation tripleheader on SHOWTIME.

The televised portion of the card takes to the airways at 9:30 p.m.

Also on the card, Ivan “The Beast” Baranchyk (9-0, 8 KOs) faces Nicholas “King Beamen” Givhan (16-0-1, 10 KOs) in a super lightweight scrap and Ivan “The Volk” Golub (10-0, 8 KOs, 5-0 in World Series of Boxing) meets Marlon Aguas (9-0, 6 KOs) in a welterweight match.

Super welterweight Dillon Cook of Seneca, a member of the Four State Franchise, is scheduled to be part of the televised portion of the card.
His brother, Jesse, and Jarrett Rouse of Bartlesville — two other 4SF members — will fight on the undercard.

Heavyweight phenom Treey Lippe Morrison was expected to be featured on the card, but he is recovering from hand surgery.

This will mark the first time Showtime has originated an event from Buffalo Run since 2013.

The card is being promoted by longtime friends Lou DiBella (DiBella Entertainment) and Tony Holden (Tony Holden Productions).

This will be the ShoBox debut for all of the fighters but Prograis and Baranchyk.

Prograis, is from Houston by way of New Orleans. He competed in the 2012 United States Olympic Boxing Trials and turned pro a short time later.
Becoming known as a knockout artist, he has dispatched eight of his last nine opponents quickly.

“I can’t wait to fight on March 25,” Prograis said in a Showtime press release. “I’m ready to put on another great show for the fans and demonstrate how I continue to improve as a fighter.” He was 16 when he turned to boxing after relocating to Houston because of Hurricane Katrina.
“I know I have a tough opponent, but I’m ready to go out and perform,” he said. “Aaron Herrera is a rugged veteran and I know there will be some fireworks. I am thankful to my promoter, DiBella Entertainment, and to the network, SHOWTIME, for the opportunity to display my skills and talent.”

Herrerra, from Valladolid, Mexico, also is working on an impressive streak since turning pro in August 2008.

This is the 17th time he will be paired against a fighter with a winning record and just the second time he’s fought in the United States.

“I’m very excited at the opportunity to showcase my talent on the ShoBox series,’’ Herrera said in the release. “I’ve been looking for an opportunity like this. I need a good breakout fight for the fans to see me in action. I am a proud Mexican fighter and on March 25 the fans will see how real Mexicans fight like, and Prograis will know who Aaron Herrera is. Viva Mexico!”

The show is on Showtime at 10:30 p.m. EST. Let’s watch some faces getting smashed together like a family.
