Bryson DeChambeau

For the second week in a row, a PGA Tour sophomore will defend his breakthrough title after climbing in to the top-25 in the Official World Golf Ranking. Some of the best on the PGA Tour will make their way to Silvis, Illinois and the TPC Deere Run course for the John Deere Classic. Last week it was Xander Schauffele that fell short of repeating at The Greenbrier. Now it’s Bryson DeChambeau’s turn to try to repeat when he goes up against a talented field in Illinois. Does he have what it takes to double down and win here for the second year in a row? We broke down the field to identify the best sports betting options on the board with odds are courtesy of BetDSI.

Here is a look at the eight best bets to win the John Deere Classic.

Event Details

Event: John Deere Classic

Category: PGA

Date: July 12th-15th, 2018

Location: TPC Deere Run, Silvis, Illinois

Last Five Winners

2017: Bryson DeChambeau -18

2016: Ryan Moore -22

2015: Jordan Spieth -20

2014: Brian Harman -22

2013: Jordan Spieth -19

Bryson DeChambeau +1000

DeChambeau captured his first PGA Tour win at the John Deere Classic a year ago. While he stumbled through the rest of the season, he has really turned it on this season. DeChambeau has recorded seven top-10 finishes and a total of 10 top-25 results. With a chance to take over the FedEx Cup points lead if he wins again this week, DeChambeau should be a popular sports betting pick for the John Deere Classic.

Francesco Molinari +1000

Molinari is another favorite that will be a popular betting option this week. Despite taking a week off, Molinari is in excellent form following his excellent performance at TPC Potomac where his eight-shot margin of victory matches the largest of the season so far. This will be Molinari’s tournament debut, but he has all of the tools needed to succeed this week. With two wins in his last four starts, Molinari is a smart bet to contend in Illinois.

Zach Johnson +1200

While DeChambeau and Molinari deserve their due, Johnson might be the best value among the sports betting favorites this week at +1200 odds. Johnson is 9-for-9 at TPC Deere since 2009 including a victory here in 2012, three runner-up finishes and another two third-place finishes. His average score over that span is 66.89. The Cedar Rapids native has absolutely dominated at his home course and there is no reason to expect that to stop this week. At +1200 odds, Johnson might be the best bet on the board to win the John Deere Classic.

Ryan Moore +1400

The 2016 champion missed the cut here a year ago for the first time in nine career visits. However, Moore is in much better form heading in to this year’s edition including a pair of top-15 finishes in his last three starts. Moore will be eager to put last year’s disappointment behind him. At decent odds, he should be an intriguing betting option to win the John Deere Classic outright.

Chesson Hadley +3300

Hadley is coming off a week off but that doesn’t mean he will fly under the radar at all in Illinois. He has seven top-10 finishes already this season and he finished T-25th here a year ago. Hadley has all of the tools to contend again this week. At long odds, he is a quality sleeper option.

Wesley Bryan +4500

Speaking of sleeper options, Bryan has made the cut at five straight events including a third-place finish and an eighth-place finish in his last two appearances. Despite his strong numbers, Bryan is still available at +4500 odds to win this event outright. If you are looking to take a shot on a quality option available at pretty good odds, Bryan is a strong bet to win the John Deere Classic.

Brian Gay +6000

Looking even further down the list of sports betting options, Gay should get plenty of attention at +6000 odds this week. Gay has shown better form of late including his best finish in seven starts at the Greenbrier in his most recent outing. Gay has recorded four top-20 results in his last six starts. If he can put it all together with some consistency throughout four rounds this week, he could surprise as a deep sleeper option.

Scott Stallings +8000

If you want to take a chance on a deep sleeper at outstanding value, Stallings might be the perfect pick. He led the field in par-five scoring at the Greenbrier last week where he finished T-13th, which was his best finish since February. Now he heads to TPC Deere Run where he has placed in the top-16 in each of his last two starts, including a T-5th at this course in 2017. Stallings has the skill set to surprise this week. If you are willing to put a small amount of money down on a substantial longshot, Stallings is an excellent choice.
