It will be a battle between ACC opponents when the Syracuse Orange (16-6, 7-2 ACC) welcome the No. 25 Florida State Seminoles (16-5, 4-4 ACC) to the Carrier Dome. The game can be seen on ESPN 3 at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.

Florida State Seminoles vs. Syracuse Orange Betting Prediction

The last time the Seminoles played, they topped the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 59-49. One of Florida State’s biggest advantages was getting to the free throw line. They had 30 free throw attempts, while Georgia Tech had just 14. Florida State was led by Terance Mann, who had 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Orange were victorious over the Pittsburgh Panthers in their last matchup, 65-56. Syracuse’s effective field goal percentage was their biggest strength over Pittsburgh. The Orange had a rate of 0.481 (below their season average of 0.502), while the Panthers posted a mark of 0.360 (below their season average of 0.498). Oshae Brissett was the top scorer from either team with 18 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field.

After the Seminoles won the lone contest against the Orange last season, 101-90, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. The Seminoles had a much better turnover percentage (13.4 vs. 18.5) and had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (45.1 vs. 35.7).

Syracuse figures to have the edge on the defensive side of the ball. The Orange currently rank 37th in effective field goal percentage allowed (0.466), while Florida State is 193rd in effective field goal percentage (0.510). Ball security could be troublesome for the Seminoles. They rank 253rd at avoiding errors (turnover percentage of 20.0 percent), while the Orange force the 25th-most turnovers in the nation (opponents’ turnover percentage of 23.3 percent).
