The seventh-seeded Florida Gators defeated the seventeenth-seeded Jacksonville Dolphins 15-10 on Sunday afternoon at Donald R. Dizney Stadium. With this victory, the Gators advance to their sixth consecutive NCAA Quarterfinal in program history. Florida is currently 17-4 and has won 15 consecutive games entering into the round of eight.

The Gators’ 15-game winning run is tied for the longest in their program’s history (2012, 2021). Danielle Pavinelli led the Florida offense with five goals scored during the day. Josie Hahn contributed a career-high three goals, while Paisley Eagan, Maggi Hall, and Emma LoPinto each scored two and Bella Palagonia added one.

These five goals propelled Pavinelli over the threshold of 100 career goals, making her the fifteenth Gator to reach the mark. In the victory, Hall gave out a team-high two assists, while Emily Heller and Pavinelli each tallied one. Florida earned twelve draw controls on the day, headed by Liz Harrison with six. Hahn, Heller, and Shelton Sawers each contributed two draws to the victory.

The Gator defense limited Jacksonville to 10-of-33 shooting (.303) and produced 11 Jacksonville turnovers. Heller led the squad with three caused turnovers, followed by Emma Wightman with two. Leigh Lingo and Hall each collected three ground balls in the triumph, followed by Heller, Wightman, and Sarah Reznick with two each. Reznick had a stellar day between the pipes, making 12 saves with a save of 545 in 60 minutes of action. The Gators will face No. 2 Maryland in the NCAA Quarterfinals on Thursday at College Park, Maryland. After the conclusion of the Second Round, game timings will be determined.
