Burroughs starts Podcast  No. 81 by talking about the world of golf. This week’s podcast talks about the FedEx Cup Playoffs and the Ryder Cup. Our host dishes on his picks for the Ryder Cup teams — both the United States squad and the European team.

Burroughs welcomes Angus Hamilton to the show and together they make their picks for this week’s action across the board. Our host’s record for the year is 55-38-7. The two banter back and forth on who will make the Ryder Cup squads and who will shine and who will not.

Burroughs Predictions for the Dell Technologies Championship – Odds courtesy of BETDSI.eu

Dustin Johnson -160 vs. Brooks Koepka +140

When will the bookmaker’s get this matchup right? For week’s they have had Johnson as the heavy favorite but at the end of the week, it’s Koepka that grabs the money. Last week, it was the same story, Koepka once again flexed his muscles and beat his good buddy. This betting line should be closer to even money, therefore, I’m taking the plus money with Koepka and you should too.

Ian Poulter -115 vs. Rafa Cabrera-Bello -115

Both players need to make a move if they want to make the Ryder Cup squad. With only a few weeks left to impress, one or both could either make the team or be left off. Bello seems to be in better form and in my opinion should be the favorite. I’m taking the Spaniard to the bank!

Tiger Woods -120 vs. Jon Rahm EVEN

Woods resurgence is quite stunning. A year ago it appeared that he may not even play again. Now he’s climbed to No. 26 in the world with two top fives in major championships, including a runner-up finish at the PGA Championship. He seems to play well on a weekly basis, something young Rahm fails to do. I’m taking Woods for one reason — he’s more consistent.

Rory McIlroy -120 vs. Jordan Spieth EVEN

Spieth shoots 65 one day and 75 the next. His consistency is a real concern — so is his confidence and attitude. He says all the right things but at the end of the day, he falls out of contention and out of sight. McIlroy rested last week and will be ready to make a statement in Boston. With the current state of Spieth’s game, McIlroy should be favored by much more. Take McIlroy!

ODDS to WIN

Value Pick

Rookie Aaron Wise (+5000) is going to be named ROY later this fall. He picked up a win earlier this year and after a sluggish couple of months, he found his game last week with a top-five finish. The kid hits it a mile, which will bode well with the wide open fairways at TPC Boston. He’s in the mix of making the Ryder Cup squad — a longshot, but with a win it may make captain Jim Furyk think twice when picking the final spot on the team. At +5000 Aaron is a Wise choice.

Fade

Englishman Paul Casey (+4250) seemed like a lock to make the Ryder Cup team just a few months ago, but now he’s on the outside looking in, and with the way he’s played recently, I don’t think we will see him on the team. He continues to underachieve, rarely wins and can not be counted on this week. Stay away!
