Ian Kinsler remains one of the most coveted second basemen in the game

Our Wednesday lineup features a diverse cast of players and favorable situations.  We’ll use Draft Kings prices for the daily picks.

P – Zack Greinke – Los Angeles Dodgers

Greinke opened at $10,000.  The Dodgers will host the San Francisco Giants with a starting time of 9:10 p.m. ET.  We had Greinke in his last start when he pitched seven shutout innings with seven strikeouts and are coming back for more.  The Giants have stumbled out of the gate with an 8-12 record and rank 29th in MLB for run production and 25th for home runs.  Greinke has been far and away the Dodgers top pitcher with a 1.35 ERA, a .170 batting average surrendered, and a WHIP of 0.79.

C – Yadier Molina – St. Louis

Molina opened at $4,000.  The Cardinals will host the Philadelphia Phillies with a starting time of 7 p.m. ET.  Molina has gotten off to a solid start and remains one of the premier catchers in the game.  Molina is hitting .273 with four doubles and eight RBI.  Phillies starter Aaron Harang has been one of the few bright spots on a last place team so far but has been pitching far above his career numbers and should be coming back down to earth sooner rather than later.

1B – Jose Abreu – Chicago White Sox

Abreu opened at $5,100.  The White Sox are at the Baltimore Orioles with a starting time of 6:06 p.m. ET.  Baltimore starter Chris Tillman has been terrible at the start of the season with a 7.58 ERA, a .297 batting average surrendered, and a 1.84 WHIP.  He has allowed 22 hits and four home runs in 19 innings of work.  Abreu has been one of the top producers on the White Sox so far with a .313 average and OPS of 1.012.  Abreu has five doubles, five home runs, eight runs with 14 RBI.

2B – Ian Kinsler – Detroit

Kinsler opened at $4,500.  The Tigers are at the Minnesota Twins with a starting time of 12:10 p.m. ET.  Minnesota starter Phil Hughes has surrendered a .278 batting average with a 4.39 ERA so far on the season.  Kinsler has been one of the more productive Tigers with a .300 average, a .360 on base percentage, 15 runs, and 10 RBI.  The Minnesota bullpen ranks a subpar 18th in MLB for ERA.

3B – Evan Longoria – Tampa Bay

Longoria opened at $4,600.  The Rays are at the New York Yankees with a starting time of 12:05 p.m. ET.  The veteran Longoria figures to rate the advantage against first year Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka.  Longoria remains fantasy gold as one of the most coveted third basemen in the game.  Longoria is hitting .318 with an OPS of .887.  Longoria has 11 runs scored with seven doubles on the season.

SS – Troy Tulowitzki – Colorado

Tulowitzki opened at $5,000.  The Rockies are at the Arizona Diamondbacks with a starting time of 8:40 p.m. ET.  Colorado continues to be one of the top surprises in the game with an 11-8 record and Tulowitzki is among the top reasons for their success.  Tulowitzki is hitting .304 with 12 runs, 10 doubles, two home runs, and  nine RBI.

OF – Mike Trout – Los Angeles Angels

Trout opened at $5,500.  The Angels are at the Oakland A’s with a starting time of 9:05 p.m. ET.  Trout is hitting .318 with an OPS of .978.  Trout is the most coveted outfielder, if not player, in all of fantasy and has delivered 16 runs with 11 RBI so far on the season.  With just three doubles and four home runs so far, there remains plenty of upside for Trout.   The Oakland bullpen ranks 25th for ERA on the season.

Sleeper – Yeonis Cespedes – Detroit

Cespedes opened at $4,900.  Cespedes is far and away living up to the hype and the potential that he showed in his rookie season as a member of the Oakland A’s.  Cespedes is hitting .303 with six doubles and four home runs with eight runs and 16 RBI. While many fantasy owners have felt burned in the past by Cespedes it looks as if he has finally arrived.
