World Cup Odds:  The most impressive team so far in the 2014 World Cup has been Germany. They dominated a Portugal team that has one of the best players in the world in Cristiano Ronaldo, winning 4-0.  Germany will look to continue their strong play as they take on Ghana on Saturday in a match that can be seen on ESPN.  Ghana is coming off a disappointing 2-1 loss to the United States.  Let’s look at Saturday’s match and World Cup predictions.

Germany a 3-1 Favorite

The oddsmakers are not giving Ghana much of a chance on Saturday as Germany is listed as more than a 3-1 favorite in World Cup odds on the three-way line. Germany was rarely threatened by Portugal in the opener but it was still very clear that the Germans are loaded with talented players.  Thomas Muller had the hat trick and Mats Hummels added the other goal.

Ghana Dominates but Loses Opener

It doesn’t happen often that a team controls play and loses but that is what happened to Ghana in their match against the United States.  Ghana had possession for most of the match and had more scoring chances but they gave up an early goal and a late goal and lost 2-1.  Ghana played almost the entire second half on the American side of the field but they managed only one goal and then gave up a late goal on a set piece to fall 2-1.”All I can say is that it was a very tough game and when you play at this high level any little mistake can cost you dearly,” said Ghana head coach James Kwesi Appiah.

It will be difficult for Ghana against Germany but Appiah believes his team will play well saying, “It’s not going to be easy to qualify for the group, but we’ll give everything to do just that. We’re going to have to play well against Germany and I know we’ll give them a good game.”

World Cup Predictions

Ghana may give Germany a good game but it is hard to see how they win this one.  We’ll go with Germany to get their second straight win in Group G on Saturday.
